Ruben Amorim has garnered acclaim for his managerial prowess at Sporting Lisbon. His impact has been so significant that Bruno Fernandes, who transferred from Sporting to Manchester United for £68 million in 2020, believes Amorim is capable of managing at the highest echelons of football.
Fernandes, in an interview with CNN Portugal, praised Sporting’s playing style under Amorim’s guidance: “Since Amorim’s arrival, Sporting has been one of the teams playing the most attractive football. They’ve maintained consistency, made astute signings, and are currently in excellent form. The team is exceptionally well-prepared.”

Highlighting Amorim’s achievements, Fernandes added, “Amorim has demonstrated his readiness for top-level management. Leading Sporting to championships is no small feat – the club had a 20-year title drought before Amorim secured two in quick succession. This underscores the quality of his work.”
Regarding Amorim’s potential to succeed in other leagues, Fernandes remarked, “Whether he could replicate this success in England, Spain, or elsewhere remains to be seen. However, I’m confident that his qualities are evident to all observers.”
